Rundell Ernstberger Associates (REA) is currently searching for an Urban Planning and Design Intern for our Indianapolis, IN office for the Spring of 2019, Summer of 2019, Fall of 2019, and Winter 2019/2020.
Founded in 1979, REA is an award-winning urban design, landscape architecture, and planning firm providing transformational site planning, design and placemaking solutions directly linked to economic development and community enhancement strategies. The present multi-disciplinary staff of 25 professionals in the fields of landscape architecture, planning, urban design, and engineering collaborate in two offices in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Louisville, Kentucky.

With supervision, the candidate will assist staff with a variety of project assignments including collecting and organizing project background information for use in reports, computer rendering of drawings and presentation graphics. They will assist the REA team in the preparation of a variety of design documents and reports. This candidate will perform basic site analysis that may include site visits and participation in public outreach and community engagement methods. They will collaborate with planning, land architect and engineering professionals on a range of complex multi-disciplinary projects. Through this experience the candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of responsibilities required of a professional urban planner, urban designer and/or landscape architecture professional.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Urban Planning, Urban Design, or Landscape Architecture with a graduation date of 2019 or later.
• Have strong written and verbal skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with GIS and ArcView to create maps and exhibits. Knowledge of AutoCAD preferred.
• Ability to speak Spanish desired.
