The City of Franklin’s Comprehensive Transportation Network Plan contains recommendations for both automobile and non-automobile modes within the City of Franklin and its Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) through 2040. This plan is to be used as a tool to help evaluate and ensure that transportation projects are prioritized with available resources based on the direction of future growth and redevelopment. Additionally, the plan recognizes the importance of strengthening the community through improved transportation network connections, transit, and pedestrian and bicycle facilities. Increased function and efficiency within the existing system can encourage the use of non-automotive modes, promote economic development, and reduce the need for costly roadway expansions.
