Monon Boulevard & Midtown Plaza in Carmel, Indiana has been selected as a project for the Landscape Architecture Foundation 2023 Case Study Investigation (CSI) program. In total, eleven faculty Research Fellows and ten high-performing landscape projects from across the United States have been chosen the program.
We are looking forward to our collaboration with Research Fellow, Yiwei Huang, PhD at Purdue Horticulture and Landscape Architecture and her student research assistants to investigate and document the environmental, social, and economic impacts of the Monon Boulevard's high-performance design.
Case Study Investigation (CSI) is a unique research collaboration and training program for faculty, students, and practitioners. LAF funded faculty-student research teams work with design professionals to document the impacts of their exemplary, high-performing landscape projects. Teams develop methods to quantify the environmental, social, and economic benefits of built projects and produce Case Study Briefs for LAF’s Landscape Performance Series. Research Fellows lead the CSI collaboration and receive funding to support a student Research Assistant. The academic teams work with liaisons from the design firms to evaluate and document each project.
