The Kentucky Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects recognizes two REA projects with Design Awards at their annual conference today in Louisville: Stone Family Center for Health Sciences in Evansville, IN and Ohio River Greenway Visioning Plan in Jeffersonville, IN. Design Awards are given to projects that demonstrate high quality design and execution; environmental sensitivity and sustainability; and design value to the client and to other professionals. The Stone Family Center for Health Sciences located on four city blocks in downtown Evansville, IN is part of a medical campus that has become a landmark case study for urban infill, complete streets and green infrastructure development. REA created the master plan and executed all subsequent sitework including the new plaza and adjacent streetscape.
Ohio River Greenway Visioning Plan is a world-class linear park that connects a series of open-space destinations, attracts investment and strengthens the link between Ohio River communities. REA was commissioned by the Ogle Foundation to create the Greenway Plan, which is a blueprint for ecological restoration that also celebrates the region’s rich natural and cultural history.
